The “Battle On The Bricks” will be contested for the first time over six hours. This means that the race will count towards the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup for the first time, alongside the events in Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and at Road Atlanta.

Ahead of the Battle on The Bricks, eighth round of the GTP Weathertech Sportcar Championship at Indianapolis, Porsche leads Cadillac with 89 points. In teams and drivers championships, both Porsche teams are leading the two Cadillac teams with both Acura still in contention.

Both factory Porsche 963 teams executed a perfect strategy saving fuel in the second half of the race, so that Mathieu Jaminet in the #6 car and Felipe Nasr in the #7 ended 1-2.
