IMSA Teams Testing at Daytona Day 2

Romain Grosjean with the #63 Lamborghini Iron Lynx SC63 did set the fastest lap of 1:35.661 across two days of the IMSA-sanctioned post-season test at Daytona during the last night test session (5). His teammate Andrea Caldarelli holds the fourth fastest lap of combined sessions.

Both Acura ARX-06 follow

Nick Yelloly in the #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06 did beat Tom Blomqvist’s fastest lap of day 1 in 1:35.708 during the second day morning session. Blomqvist still hold the third fastest lap of combined sessions in 1:35.905 with #60 Acura.

Six BMW M Works drivers next within 0.263 second

The second day saw Marco Wittmann and Robin Frijns improving Philipp Eng’s session 1 fastest lap (1:36.025 with #24) among the BMW M Works drivers. Wittmann was the last driver to lap under the 1:36 mark in 1:35.991 with #25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 during the morning session (3) and Frijns made his fastest lap during the night session (5) in 1:36.001 with sister #24. Wittman and Eng also scored the eight and ninth fastest lap respectively with the #24 (1:36.036) and #25 BMW (1:36.042). Only 0.051 second separate those 3 drivers setting five fastest lap with the two BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8.

Max Hesse with #25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 was eleventh fastest in 1:36.254.

#31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R sixth

Jack Aitken kept being fastest of the Cadillac works drivers with his 1:36.232 during session 2. Felipe Albuquerque drove a 1:36.367 lap during the second day night session (5) which puts him in P13 of combined session by driver.

Bruni still fastest of Porche 963s

Kevin Estre did improve his fastest lap during day 2 afternoon session (4) in 1:36.423. Gianmaria Bruni remains the fastest of the Porsche works drivers with #85 JDC Miller Motorsports Porsche 963 in 1:36.396.

Ford Mustang drivers top GTD PRO-GTD class

Ford Multimatic Motorsports 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship new lineups have dominated the GTD PRO class with Dennis Olsen with #65 in 1:48.198, Seb Priaulx (#64) in 1:48.309, Frederic Vervisch (#65) in 1:48.420, all three during session 4. Mike Rockenfeller was fourth in Ford Mustang GT3 #64 in 1:48.454, Christopher Mies fifth (#65) in 1:48.524 and Ben Barker sixth.

In GTD, the Iron Dames have switch from Lamborghini to a Porsche 911 GT3 R. The three ladies were already running a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the ELMS series with much more success than they had in WEC or IMSA with the Lamborghini. As Sarah Bovy, has been promoted to silver (from Bronze), Karen Gaillard will now be the Bronze driver for the Iron Dames. Rahel Frey was the fastest of the four drivers (Cressoni, Gaillard and Schiavoni) in the #83 Porsche.
