Iron Lynx among the best in FP1 at Barcelona

ELMS Barcelona round FP1 was a confirmation of the Prologue with the same actors on top of the timesheets except for both Iron Lynx cars with a P2 for #9 Oreca in LMP2 and a P4 for #63 Mercedes-AMG in LMGT3.

LMP2 FP1

ELMS Barcelona top 5 LMP2.

Tom Dillmann with #43 Inter Europol Competition ORECA was the fastest of the first Free Practice session of the 2025 ELMS season today with a 1:29.333. Dillmann didn’t eclipse Luca Ghiotto’s 1:28.808 in the sister car during the Prologue but confirms the speed of the Inter Europol Competition Oreca at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Matteo Cairoli got the #9 Iron Lynx Proton ORECA second in the standings with a 1:38.733. One did not see the Iron Lynx prepared by Proton Competition in top of timesheets during the prologue.

LMGT3 FP1

In LMGT3 one still have two Ferrari 296 on top of timesheets but a Porsche 911 GT3R and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 are now within the top 4.

TOP 5 LMGT3 Barcelona FP1

Alessio Picariello did set the third best performance of the session still 0.864 seconds short of Riccardo Agostini’s fastest lap with the #50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3.

Fabian Schiller drove the #63 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the first time in the top 4.

LMP3 Qualifying

ELMS 2025 Barcelona FP1 LMP3

As during the Prologue and free practices, it was again Adrien Closmenil with #17 from CLX Motorsport who dominated the LMP2 qualifying session and will start from pole the LMP3 class tomorrow.

Marius Fossard with #31 Racing Spirit of Leman was second fastest 0.219 short of pole..

Saturday ELMS schedule is a follow:

• Free Practice 2 at 10:10 a.m. CEST (4:10 a.m. EDT);

• Qualifying at 1:55 p.m. CEST (7:55 a.m. EDT).

Race starts at 12:00 CEST (6:00 a.m. EDT)
