Lucas Auer (Mercedes) in pole at Bathurst
Lucas Auer in the #77 Craft-Bamboo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo has claimed pole position for Sunday’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour. Matt Campbell (#911 Absolute Porsche 911) and Raffaele Marciello (#46 Team WRT BMW M4) did not qualify for the top 10 qualifying session.
Mercedes 1 and 3 with Audi P2
The two Internationally backed AMG entries did score P1 and P3 in the 15 minutes qualifying session.
Lucas Auer, in the #77 Craft-Bamboo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, clinched his first pole for the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener after reeling off a best lap of 2:01.276 in the Pirelli Pole Battle at Mount Panorama. Maximilian Goetz joins Auer in the #77 Mercedes-AMG as well as local star Jayden Ojeda, who joined the Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver program late last year.
Ricardo Feller got his #183 Jamec Racing/Team MPC Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II in front row with a flying lap of 02:01.4010. Liam Talbot and Broc Feeney are joining Feller in the #183 Audi.
Maro Engel with #888 GruppeM Mercedes-AMG was third quickest in 2:01.5600 and will start from second row. Mikael Grenier and new Mercedes works driver Maxime Martin (second race in Mercedes-AMG GT3) are joining Engel in the #888
A Team WRT BMW also in second row
Sheldon van der Linde did put his #32 WRT BMW in fourth with a fastest lap of 2:01.6930. Sheldon’ll be joined by his brother Kelvin van der Linde in the #32 and Augusto Farfus who returns to The Mountain after a year away.
A Ferrari in the top 5
Chaz Mostert completed the top-five in his #26 Arise Racing GT Ferrari 296 GT3. Chaz Mostert will be joined by current Australian Supercars Champion Will Brown and two-time Le Mans GTE-Pro class winner Daniel Serra in this unique Pro-entered Ferrari 296 GT3.
Marciello and Campbell out of top 10

Among the favorites for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, last year winner Matt Campbell (#911 Absolute Porsche 911 left) and Raffaele Marciello (#46 Team WRT BMW M4 right) did not qualify for the top 10 qualifying session ending respectively 11th and 12th of the 30’ qualifying session prior to the 15’ one for the pole and final top 5 rows for the start of the 12 hours race.
