Hockenheim: Feller-Drudi with #40 Audi win race 1
Out of the 7 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II that qualified in the top 8 of the morning qualifying session, 5 of them were still in the top 8 at the end of race 1 this afternoon. Audi clinch the double with #40 Tresor Orange 1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II driven by Ricardo Feller and Mattia ahead of Frederic Vervisch, Nicolas Baert with ComToYou Racing Audi R8 #12.

After the third safety car during the first 15’, Drudi with #40 Audi took over Pepper (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO #60) who did set the fastest lap in the morning qualifying session and started from pole.

From then on, Drudi-Feller with Tresor Orange 1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II #40 lead the first race of the third sprint round at Hockenheim only challenged by #12 ComToYou Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II shortly after drivers changes but not for long.

The WRT team's BMW M4 GT3s benefited from a 5 kg weight reduction before the race, enabling the top 3 cars to score valuables points. Starting 10th, Weerts-Vanthoor with #32 finished 4th. Krütten-Williams with #30 started from the 8th row (P16) and finished 5th also winning the Gold Cup. After a catastrophic start of the race from Rossi who was almost at the back of the pack after sandbagging, Maxime Martin (#46) took the wheel to make a fantastic comeback ending 8th overall.
