Best GT Drivers fight for FIA GT World Cup

The best GT drivers will fight for the FIA GT World Cup on the streets of Macau from November 16-19. Two 30-minute practice sessions will be followed by a single qualifying session of the same duration. Racing action will be held across two heats, with a 12-lap qualifying race followed by a 16-lap title-deciding main race.

15 Drivers with top GT credentials

The winners of the five last editions as well as 10 drivers with GT high level credential are participating to the 2024 FIA GT World Cup:

  • Previous FIA GT World Cup winners, Raffaele Marciello (2019), Augusto Farfus (2018), Eduardo Mortara (2017), Laurens Vanhtoor (2016) and Maro Engel (2015).

  • DTM champions Thomas Preining (2023) and Sheldon van der Linde (2022)

  • 24 Hours of Le Mans winners Earl Bamber (overall in 2015 and 2017), Kevin Estre (class win in 2018) and Daniel Serra (class in 2017 and 2019)

  • FIA World Endurance Championship LMGTE PRO: Kevin Estre (2018-2019)

  • Michelin Endurance Cup - GTD Pro: Daniel Juncadella (2023)

  • European Le Mans Series GTE class title winner Alessio Picariello (2023)

  • GT World Challenge Europe winner Daniel Juncadella (2023)

  • GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup winners Jules Gounon (2022 and 2023) and Daniel Juncadella (2022),

  • Nürburgring 24 Hours winners Earl Bamber and Matteo Cairoli

Five Manufacturers

Audi

Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute will feature two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 for 2017 winner Eduardo Mortora and Christopher Haase.

Two additional Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 will be in the hands of local drivers Congfu Cheng and Adderly Cheun Yue Fong.

BMW

Rowe Racing and Team WRT will feature each a BMW M4 GT3 for Augusto Farfus and Sheldon van der Linde.

Ferrari

Harmony Racing is featuring a Ferrari 296 GT3 for Ferrari 499P factory driver Daniel Serra and a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo for Weian Chen.

Mercedes

Last year, the main race of the local Macau GT Cup was won by three-time champion Maro Engel (GER) for Mercedes-AMG Team Craft-Bamboo Racing. Since its GT debut in 2008, the challenging 6.115-kilometre street circuit has proven to be a successful venue for the victorious Mercedes-AMG GT3. With four consecutive Macau triumphs (2019 - 2022) and seven victories in a total of 15 editions of the Macau GT Cup, Mercedes-AMG is the sole record holder. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be in the hands of factory drivers Jules Gounon, Raffaele Marciello, Maro Engel and Daniel Juncadella plus two additional ones for Ying Kin Marchy Lee and a driver to be defined.

Porsche

Seven Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 992) are set to make their FIA Macau GT World Cup debut. Three will be driven by WEC Hypercar drivers Earl Bamber, Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor.
